Hello,

You can try copying the ~/.mplayer/subfont.ttf from RH 8.0.

If it is a symlink (probably) just link ~/.mplayer/subfont.ttf to your
favourite font (the font directories are usually under
"/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/").
