Where are you trying to start firefox from? From what I see above, it 
won't start. Are you getting any error messages? Anything like:
	%/usr/X11R6/bin
	/usr/X11R6/bin: Permission denied.
	%./firefox
	./firefox: Command not found.
	%firefox
	%
The last command does start firefox. Try that. Just in case, it was run 
from an XTerm.
