Nope. I grepped (case insensitive) for "tz" and "thermal" and just found lines
with "adjkerntz"...

Nope. A custom kernel with acpi.ko module:
% kldstat
Id Refs Address    Size     Name
 1    3 0xc0400000 36db84   kernel
 2    1 0xc076e000 58554    acpi.ko
