Every couple of days, one of my Dell Work-Stations running freebsd 6.1 simp=
ly=20
locks up. The box can be pinged only IE there are no services running, lock=
ed=20
up screen/kbd/mouse. No caps-lock light action on kybd... On/OFF time.=20
Actually OFF doesn't work either (It's a dell, with ACPI power switch) only=
=20
hitting the reset button will revive things.=20

Machine restarts OK, complains about improperly dismounted drives.... etc.

There is no core file, and the last entries in messages just before the loc=
kup=20
always look like this:

Aug 23 00:23:02 viola kernel: acd0: WARNING - PREVENT_ALLOW read data overr=
un=20
18>0
Aug 23 00:24:02 viola kernel: acd0: WARNING - PREVENT_ALLOW read data overr=
un=20
18>0
Aug 23 00:26:02 viola kernel: acd0: WARNING - READ_TOC read data overrun 18=
>12
Aug 23 00:28:32 viola kernel: acd0: WARNING - PREVENT_ALLOW read data overr=
un=20
18>0

There was NO CD in the cdrom drive either,=20

This has happened with the original GENERIC kernel, and also with the custo=
m=20
kernel I recently built for that hardware.

The crash happens at intervals of between 1 and 3 days (the machine is neve=

Any ideas where to start poking at this problem?
