I have compared both the 1.9.100 and 1.4.7 versions to git HEAD,
and 1.4.7 is much closer.

1.9.100 doesn't work for a lot of people, take a look at
http://www.freebsd.org/cgi/query-pr.cgi?pr=117726
for example.
