Yes, this seems to start hald. But now I have another problem: if I in
Gnome try to go to the launcher properties of an icon on my desktop,
the dialog exits immediately. It looks like it is crashing but it gives
no core dump. I don't know if this new problem has something to do with
hal, but when hal isn't running this problem does not appear.
