Do you have a printer installed? It's possible that the two
programs mentioned require CUPS for printing and won't work
when just the system's printing service is installed.

In worst case, use "print to file" from Chromium, for example
to /tmp/chrprint.ps, and then "lpr /tmp/chrprint.ps". You can
preview the file with a PS viewer (for example gv).
