  Yes.

  kld_list="/boot/modules/drm.ko /boot/modules/i915kms.ko"
will hang as well.

/boot/modules/{drm,i915kms}.ko is patched modules.

# /boot/kernel.r352239/{drm,i915kms}.ko is not patched.
