Every time I use the chio command to control my tape library (MediaLogic) I get a kernal message or the sort Mar 22 12:29:42 r2s3 /kernel: (ch0:ahc0:0:5:0): warning, READ ELEMENT STATUS avail != count I'm not exactly sure what's causing this and was hoping someone here more familiar with the ch(4) code could comment. ch(4) and chio(1) seem to work find except for filling my logs with this error message. Is this likely to be a bug in ch(4) or a deficiency in the way my tape changer implements support for the associated SCSI commands? If the latter, what's the best way to quiet these error messages (assuming I can't get the company to fix it). This isn't the end of the world... just annoying... Here's the output of chio status picker 0: slot 0: <ACCESS> slot 1: <ACCESS,FULL> slot 2: <ACCESS,FULL> slot 3: <ACCESS,FULL> slot 4: <ACCESS,FULL> slot 5: <ACCESS,FULL> slot 6: <ACCESS,FULL> slot 7: <ACCESS,FULL> slot 8: <ACCESS,FULL> slot 9: <ACCESS,FULL> slot 10: <ACCESS,FULL> slot 11: <ACCESS,FULL> slot 12: <ACCESS,FULL> slot 13: <ACCESS,FULL> slot 14: <ACCESS> slot 15: <ACCESS> slot 16: <ACCESS> slot 17: <ACCESS> slot 18: <ACCESS> slot 19: <ACCESS> slot 20: <ACCESS> slot 21: <ACCESS> slot 22: <ACCESS> slot 23: <ACCESS> slot 24: <ACCESS> slot 25: <ACCESS> slot 26: <ACCESS> slot 27: <ACCESS> portal 0: <INEAB,EXENAB,ACCESS> drive 0: <ACCESS,FULL> Thanks! -- --- ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Charles N.
