Subject:   no space left when df shows 250MB free space? how?

how come freebsd says no space left? I have used tunefs to change the
minimum percentage
of free space to 0 could that efect this?
tunefs: minimum percentage of free space: (-m)             0%

here is what happpened;

usr/local/squid/cache/disk1: write failed, file system is full
cp: ./backup.28-08-1999.tgz: No space left on device
turkey:/usr/local/squid/cache/disk1#df
