Job Title:		Core OS Engineer, BSD UNIX Engineer
Description:	Apple's Core OS organization is seeking an energetic, =20=

motivated software engineer to work on the BSD UNIX subsystem of the =20
iPhone OS and Mac OS X. This position is for a user-space generalist, =20=

providing an opportunity to work on a wide variety of open source =20
technologies derived from BSD and Linux, as well as Apple-original =20
technologies. Responsibilities will include a mixture of evolving =20
existing projects and new design work with a particular emphasis in =20
event-driven shared library interfaces. The ideal candidate is a self-=20=

motivated individual with strong technical and communication skills =20
who is eager to interact with other members of the Core OS team, other =20=

teams at Apple, and with the open source community at large. Previous =20=

experience with multithreaded applications is desired. The preferred =20
candidate will also have a track record of refactoring problems to =20
extract optimal efficiency.

In this position you will be expected to:
=E2=80=A2 Participate in all stages of software development, from new =
feature =20
design and implementation, to maintenance of prior releases.
=E2=80=A2 Diagnose and resolve customer-reported issues
=E2=80=A2 Develop test suites and internal infrastructure

=E2=80=A2 B.S. in Computer Science or equivalent experience
=E2=80=A2 Excellent knowledge of C, Objective-C, or C++
=E2=80=A2 Strong analytical and debugging skills
=E2=80=A2 Experience with UNIX systems, and understanding of operating =
system =20
fundamentals

Preferred Experience:
=E2=80=A2 Experience with embedded development
=E2=80=A2 Experience with i386, x86_64 or ARM assembler language
=E2=80=A2 Experience with Mac OS X
=E2=80=A2 Involvement in open source technologies and development =
communities =20
such as FreeBSD, Linux, Apache, X.Org, etc.
