Subject: SB16: recording 8 bit ok, 16 bit recording just gives noise

I am trying to record with my SoundBlaster16 ISA card.

Playing sounds and recording 8 bit sounds works ok. If I try to record
16 bit sounds, I just get noise. Does anybody know this behaviour?

My kernel config is (FreeBSD 4.1-RELEASE):

     device pcm
     device sbc0 at isa? port 0x220 irq 10 drq 1 flags 0x15

cat /dev/sndstat says:

FreeBSD Audio Driver (newpcm) Sep 9 2000 00:45:09
     Installed devices:
     pcm0: <SB DSP 4.13> at io 0x220 irq 10 drq 1:5 (1p/1r channels duplex)

I am using the same configuration values (IO, IRQ, DMA) that Windoze
uses.

Regards,
Georg.
