It burned me on my first encounter with FreeBSD in 1999 and I won't
touch it any more. If you want to move a disk to a new system, there
isn't any guarantee that it will boot if any of the HD's are DD. The
system doesn't even get to the boot process but hangs when the bios is
dealing with the drive right after if finished counting memory. When
it hangs at this point in the startup it is really rough to add a
proper mbr back on the disk.
