I think it's the BADTRANS Outlook virus firing off stuff at the mailing 
list. Details at :

(bearing in mind the the virus industry has an interest in talking 
these things up).

There are (as usual) fixes to apply to Outlook/IE etc. The most 
effective one is to de-install Outlook.

Sorry to go OT but whilst looking for a summary page regarding 
BADTRANS on the Microsoft site I came across
