I've seen some "BTX Halted" error's with Compaq Evo desktops around
google and some of them dont work.
I installed FreeBSD 4.7 succesfully by:
going to the BIOS and setting under the Device options
to MAX PIO for the HardDrive
to MAX PIO for the CDROM
to MAX PIO for the defaults

I've done this four times on different machines and the BTX Halted error
dissapeared.

Later dudes!
