I think that both explaining the adverse consequences of the GPL and pointing out that the BSD license is better are both good things. If explaining the problems caused by the GPL is "attacking" it -- well, then, so be it. When there's a fire in a building, you don't just say, "Gee, it's such a nice day today. Why don't you just step outside?"
