I'm using Dovecot SASL. I works flawlessly and is very easy to set up. I'm using it on an OpenBSD box and it works very well with BSD Auth. It should work just as well with PAM. The integration into Postfix was very easy. However if you don't need a POP3/IMAP server it might be overkill to install Dovecot just for SASL. There is also GNU SASL in the ports (security/gsasl). However I never used it. Best regards, Jona
