Ok, the document I was reading must have been outdated, or about the 
original csh. The current csh points tcsh, which is a lot more vamped up 
than the original Berkeley csh I believe:

[gcooper@tanaka ~]$ csh --help | grep tcsh
tcsh 6.15.00 (Astron) 2007-03-03 (i386-intel-FreeBSD) options 
wide,nls,dl,al,kan,sm,rh,color,filec
