I have the same computer (Dell optiplex 740) but the sysctl turnaround
doesn't work, the bge interface seem up but no interruptions.

I have to download / recompile with sys/dev/bge/if_bge.c rev
1.198.2.13 and sys/dev/pci/pci.c rev 1.355.2.6

Is there anything else to try ?
