Subject:   speeding up reading of small files over nfs ?

I am doing more and more installworlds over nfs and notice that for
remote sites with a decent amount of latency, nfs installworlds are
pretty slow.  With a single large file, its quick.  Are there any
tunings that can be done to increase the speed or better tune for this
scenario ?
