BTW, curiously enough this how IPC_WaitProcess invocation looks in
nsPipeTransport::Kill:

// Reap process (to avoid memory leaks in NSPR)
// **NOTE** This could cause this (UI?) thread to hang
status = IPC_WaitProcess(mProcess, &mExitCode);
