Hi,

The trace shows that the device is not responding to a control request, 
which is the port status control request. This is a violation of USB.org 
ULPT standards.

Are you sure your device is genuine, hence the wrong spelling of 
"Prolific" ?

Try compiling the ulpt module with USB_DEBUG set:

ee /sys/modules/usb/ulpt/Makefile

ADD:

CFLAGS+= -DUSB_DEBUG

Rebuild and install the module.

Set hw.usb.ulpt.debug=15

Look for errors.
