I just got my pvr250 up and running again and was wondering what people use for fast and efficient transcoding ? The native format is quite large and I want to convert the file into xvid or divx for later viewing, but I dont want to reduce the quality too much. Anyone doing anything similar, and if so what program are you using with what options ? % tcprobe -i daily-26.mpg [tcprobe] MPEG program stream (PS) [tcprobe] summary for daily-26.mpg, (*) = not default, 0 = not detected import frame size: -g 720x480 [720x576] (*) aspect ratio: 4:3 (*) frame rate: -f 29.970 [25.000] frc=4 (*) PTS=0.4004, frame_time=33 ms, bitrate=9520 kbps audio track: -a 0 [0] -e 48000,16,2 [48000,16,2] -n 0x50 [0x2000] (*) PTS=0.3338, bitrate=384 kbps -D 1 --av_fine_ms 33 (frames & ms) [0] [0] Thanks! ---Mike -------------------------------------------------------------------- Mike Tancsa, tel +1 519 651 3400 Sentex Communications, mike@sentex.net Providing Internet since 1994 www.sentex.net Cambridge, Ontario Canada www.sentex.net/mike
