Hallo,

I have a little (??) problem trying to boot FreeBSD 5.1beta2
on an ES40 with 32 gigs of physical RAM, this is the status:

- No special settings:
=> panic right after displaying the total memory

The system displays the physical memory chunks (the end of the
second chunk is displayed as negative... an int in the message
instead of a long unsigned, but that should not be an issue),
then panics with "kmem_suballoc() returned 3" [KERN_NOSPACE,
right ?]

- Setting hw.physmem=1G
=> The system boots and seems to work (compiled the kernel a few
times and did other things, so seems ok)

- Setting hw.physmem=16G
=> The system seems to boot, but then right after starting syslogd
repeatly fails commands on the scsi interface and there freezes
(exceess retries...)

- Setting hw.physmem=8G
=> Panic after displaying the "available memory" (that was reported
correctly).

Any hint ?

Thanks a lot for who can help in some way,

A.
