Now, when someone asks why we never changed the default, those of us who took part can offer more than just a grudging "because Brian Somers is paranoid". Furthermore, Adrian Chadd came up with an excellent idea that allows us to sandbox named for future releases without affecting existing production hosts tracking RELENG_4. In fact, Adrian's idea would make an excellent last-minute addition to 4.4-RELEASE. :-P All in all, I think this was productive, if a little long-winded. :-) Ciao, Sheldon.
