Here's a possibly silly thought - I don't remember if I've seen it or not, pretty sure I haven't (and it's something I could actually write the code for). For the tuner part of the module, rather than having the tuner data stored in the driver binary, could we use a configuration file? It seems that all the specific stuff for the tuner easily stored as pure data (as demonstrated by the fact that the tuners are all stored in rather simple structures, with a switch statement to determine which tuner is read).
