I always curse the behavior of the `!=' operator. ;)

This works as expected:

A=	hostname
X!=	${A}

all:
	@echo ${A}

But this doesn't:

X!=	${A}
A=	hostname

all:
	@echo ${A}

I wonder why the expansion cannot be delayed until actual references
like other assignment operators..
