I tried to determine when this problem started.  But, well, I'm a bit
confused now.  It may not be problems with bmake.

But I still think it's bmake because the error message bmake gives is
``don't know how to make .....''

Now, here's my findings.  All of these are on -stable.

make built on Dec 6 2001: success
make built on Jan 30 2002: failure
make built on Apr 19 2002: success
make built on May 10 2002: failure
