Hello FreeBSD peeple:)

I have tried to build a custom kernel according to the instructions in the
Handbook (groff ver 1.1.0) and have recieved an error.

After copying GENERIC to a file called COMPAQ and editing it to my needs I
followed the instructions below:

(whilst in the /usr/src/sys/i386/conf directory)

/usr/sbin/config COMPAQ
cd ../../compile/COMPAQ
make depend
make
make install

all of the above steps appeared to complete without a hitch with the "make
depend" and "make" commands dropping me back into a prompt with no errors.
However the final "make install" command gave me a "could not install, you
must compile your kernel first"

I had a quick ask on #FreeBSD but no-one at the time could help

I have included the compaq file for you to look at (the case is different
'coz I'm still using WinDoze to mail u.

Please help!

Cheers

Matty
