Hi all,

I am Shonali Balakrishna from Bangalore, India. I am going to be starting
graduate school(MSc.) at TU Delft this fall and wish to participate in
Google Summer of Code 2014 as a part of FreeBSD.

I am an Electronics and Telecommunications engineering graduate(2008-2012)
from PESIT, Bangalore and I'm currently working in Oracle India, on
automation/scripting for storage and network related refresh tasks in their
Cloud Division.

My technical interests lie in computer networking, and have completed my
CCNA certification as well. I am proficient in programming/scripting in C,
Java, Perl and Shell and have worked on many projects in these languages as
a part of work and undergraduate projects. I am proficient in Unix network
programming and have sound knowledge of TCP/IP fundamentals. Most
importantly, I'm passionate about networking and enjoy learning more and am
always willing to learning something new.

I am interested in working on "FreeBSD port of Network Manager" or "BSNMP
enhancements" and intend to apply for one of these projects through GSOC
2014. I have been familiarizing myself with the FreeBSD kernel and IP stack
in the last month and have also been familiarizing myself with BSNMP
framework and Network Manager.

Could you please update me on the status of these proposed GSOC projects
and if mentors have been confirmed for these projects?

I am working on a project proposal and would like to run it by you for
feedback when I'm done. I would be extremely grateful for any pointers or
leads to resources you could provide me with, that would help me with this
project.

Thank you for your time.

Best Regards,
