I am switching over from Debian linux (which I kind of liked) and have
installed FreeBSD 9.1.
Going to get the kde with pkg_add -r kde I get
Unable to get
ftp://ftp.freebsd.org/pub/FreeBSD/ports/i386/packages-9.1-release/Latest/kde.tbz:
File unavailable (e.g., file not found, no access)

The "9.1-release/Latest/kde.tbz" is probably the problem here.

Looking down the subdirectory tree with Firefox on another computer I find
that
ftp://ftp.freebsd.org/pub/FreeBSD/ports/i386/packages-9.0-release/Latest/does
exist (9.0 not 9.1) and that the kde.tbz does not exist either.
Assuming that I can navigate the directories on my laptop and assuming I
don't mess something up vital (using vi or whatever editor software (I
haven't used vi in 30 years)), what file should I be messing with to change
the URL and file to the proper one to install the binary?

(I have also tried make install clean, this was three days of downloading,
linking and compiling ending with nothing good.)

If anyone can help me with this (and yes, I know I have done something
dumb; I just don't know what) I would appreciate it. Now I am going to
print out the vi cheat sheet to work on over the week end.
