I was thinking of this little bit. I have came to the conclusion that
perhaps its not right to give free email accounts with @xx.freebsd.org =)

I agree that having an email account @freebsd.org domain is a privilege
and requires hard working. Thus not many people can have this privilege
although they might contribute to the FreeBSD project in some way. I also
think that having an @xx.freebsd.org email account is a privilege but it
is not so big deal since it has more of a local significance when its
compared by having an @freeebsd.org email account which would have a
global significance.

The suggestion that the people who wants to have an @xx.freebsd.org email
address should apply to the freebsd team directly is great but again
it would require some amount of processing on the freebsd team. But
instead if we define some guidelines on giving @xx.freebsd.org email
addresses perhaps the people who administrate DNS records of
xx.freebsd.org domains could also administrate the distribution of local
email accounts of the people who contribute to the project in some way in
their local region.

The FreeBSD user base is obviously growing. We cant expect that the
current freebsd team who is handling these email accounts would be
sufficient in processing all the requests forever. Localising some
operations would be most beneficial. For example if a document is being
translated -lets say into Turkish- then the best person who can confirm
the validity of the document would be a trusted person who can understand
Turkish.

So the question arises that who would define the guidelines of giving
@xx.freebsd.org email accounts etc. for the local sites? Any contact
emails etc. that you can inform or provide?

Thanks

Evren
