Money. We cannot pay the fee (>1000 US $) to join the kindergarten aka
consortium. No company was willing to pay it for us and the consortium
was not willing to waive the fee, because not-for-profit organisations
still draw a certain benefit for their community, or something along
those lines. All sounds a bit strange if you consider the fact that the
spec will be open and free-for-all eventualy.

The dev/usb/umodem.c file probes it. but the attach function is not
filled in at all.
