Actually, it's really not that complicated to set up, and, IMHO, once you
do get it set up, it saves you alot of time and stress.  they give you a
sample amanda.conf file, just take your time going through it.  It's
pretty much a set it and forget it thing, from a config point of view.

I can think of alot of other things it could use before that...such as an
the ability to work through ssh, an option to append multiple backups to
the same tape, a good working option to do backups to disk, etc.
