woo hoo! that worked.. kinda. I got the correct print test, i.e.
    !"#$%&'()*+,-./01234
    "#$%&'()*+,-./012345
    #$%&'()*+,-./0123456
    $%&'()*+,-./01234567
    %&'()*+,-./012345678

but I got a page of gibberish before that page printed.. ;)
actually, I think it was the header page. I saw where to disable that
somewhere..
