The TLaser backplane is built like a buffalo. It's the KTHA && KTIO cables
that are delicate.

I don't know what the SRM value might be (if any) to set.

It'd probably be easier to try and limit the sizes to the first contiguous 2GB
in alpha_init in machdep.c
