Hi.

I know this is a bit off-topic but it will probably have some impact
on the ongoing work with FreeBSD. As most know by now Apple will base
it's next-generation hardware on the x86-architecture moving away from
the PowerPC.

My hope is that Apple will take the direction away from Darwin and the
Mach-kernel and adopt a more stock FreeBSD userland and kernel.
FreeBSD may already benefit from some of the work done or funded by
Apple but it would be easier to integrate new functionality (in both
directions) if Apple were to base it's OS XI on a Apple-tuned but
otherwise GENERIC kernel.
