Addendum: Also, which I forgot and left out in my haste, I think I have seen most reports of people having trouble seems to have revolved around the "Auto" partitioning scheme choice in the new bsdinstaller. I avoided it and went straight to "Manual" as I prefer to do my own. IIRC the "Auto" provides one slice and one partition and throws everything in there. I still wish to have separate partitions for /, /usr, /var, etc, so I've also never tried the "Auto" scheme either. Maybe if this is the problem the OP may wish to try avoiding "Auto" and proceed directly to "Manual". Might rule something out. -Mike
