For example, in Archlinux these are separate builds/packages: libreoffice-common libreoffice-base libreoffice-calc libreoffice-draw libreoffice-impress libreoffice-writer libreoffice-sdk libreoffice-sdk-doc libreoffice-extension-nlpsolver libreoffice-extension-pdfimport libreoffice-extension-presentation-minimizer libreoffice-extension-presenter-screen libreoffice-gnome libreoffice-kde4 libreoffice-math libreoffice-postgresql-connector libreoffice-scripting-javascript ... So, there is a lot of functionality thru modularity. For example, in CentOS (clone of RedHat) I can install libreoffice-writer only, which pulls libreoffice-common, and perhaps some extension packages (if so configured). jb
