The 3.0 CD (and the 3.1 CD) I think only includes binaries and floppy
images for the i386 architecture.  Currently, you must download a snapshot
from, say, ftp.cdrom.com or mirrors.rcn.com and install that.  Make sure
that you download an alpha snapshot.
