I use si extensively.  For example:

si0: <Specialix SX PCI host card> port 0xd800-0xd87f mem
0xefffd000-0xefffd07f,0xeffe0000-0xeffeffff irq 18 at device 8.0 on
pci1
si0: [GIANT-LOCKED]
si0: PLX register 0x50: 0x18044000 changed to 0x18260000
si0: card: SXPCI, ports: 8, modules: 1, type: 40 (XIO)

I'll be happy to take a shot at it but I'll need a few hints or worked examples.
