This sounds good! Should I just poll a sysctl variable periodically,
or ...?

Anyway, I've wrote a test version, which is available at
http://svn.ntcu.net/~plasma/ichctrl-ac_test.tar.gz. The size is 2697,
and the md5 b5604f66f949a89afaca8cd4535c7ece. This version will try
to use ACPI then APM to check AC line status.
