Preferrably, both 32 and 64 bit >versions... The Intel ISP1100 would fill the bill. Fits in 1U (though it's a DEEP 1U). You can find them on eBay or at Weird Stuff if you're in the Bay Area (which, as I recall, you are). Try to get one with at least a 700 MHz Pentium III. Works well with ECC DIMMs. Only catch is that one of the cards must be a "mini" PCI card. (The interface to the card is the same as PCI, but the bracket is shorter.) The BX chipset only supports UDMA-33, so you'll want to install a fast EIDE or SCSI card. I built one up recently.... Put a Promise Ultra100 into the full-sized slot (with Granite Digital Teflon cables -- they're the best!) and an Intel EtherExpress 100 card into the mini slot. I could have bought a short bracket for the NIC, but since they're hard to get (the form factor never caught on as a standard) I just used pliers and a nibbling tool to bend and cut the bracket that was already attached. System has worked perfectly 24x7 ever since. --Brett To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-chat" in the body of the message
