Dunno what's wrong here; if it's a SCSI drive, once it reports back that it
has "Sequential Access", it'll be mapped to the st driver.  This should
happen automatically once the drive is configured okay.

Use /dev/MAKEDEV, not /dev/MAKEDEV.local (this does nothing).
