That driver is currently on my plate, and while there is a bit of work
done on it, spare time has been sparse this last month. I'll be sure to
send you the code when I am in need of beta testers.

| Howdy campers,
|
| I have a new workstation at work and it comes equipped with an AC
| 97 based on board sound "card," which isn't working with pcm. If I add
| lines to the hints file in -current I get the following probe info:
|
| pci0: <Intel 82801AA (ICH) USB controller> at 31.2 irq 11
| pci0: <unknown card> (vendor=0x8086, dev=0x2413) at 31.3 irq 10
| pci0: <Intel 82801AA (ICH) AC'97 Audio Controller> at 31.5 irq 10
|
| I can do 'MAKEDEV snd0' just fine, however any kind of operation (like cat
| /dev/sndstat, mixer, etc.) fails with "device not configured." I also
| tried making snd1 just in case, but neither works. According to the
| windows '98 device information from another machine with the same hardware
| this is a "Sound Max Integrated Digital Audio" card.
|
| I'm hoping it's just a case of adding a vendor ID to some code
| somewhere, so if someone wants to show me how to do that I'll be glad to
| work on it and send patches back. I'm using very recent -current code and
| updating is no problem.
|
| Thanks,
|
| Doug
