Hi, 1) Novell BorderManager is based on Squid or was in the beginning. 2) It gets an additional boost because Novell is really a big caching OS. Everything is cached left right and center. 3) If the company uses NDS for user login then Bordermanager will allow you to do access control via NDS. I myself would use squid if price was an issue and if it would be the only Novell server in the environment, otherwise I would go BorderManager.
