This is unfortunately a little too close to home, as I just had to put
my dog down, but I agree with it.

As has been true from the very beginning of the project, the 'committer'
is responsible for the code in the tree.

However, if the committer leaves the project or 'gives up'
responsibility of the code and no-one jumps in to take responsibility of
it, then it's fair game to let the Dane's and their axes at it.
