Hello,

I have expereinced a difficulty in having 2 Western Digital Drives on the
primary IDE Controller.

Background:

	FreeBSD 4.6 or 4.6.2

	Primary IDE drive:

		ad0: 19092MB <WDC WD200BB-75CAA0> [38791/16/63] at ata0-master BIOSDMA

	Secondary IDE drive:

		Seemingly any Western Digital drive (tried Several)

Upon install I get the following:

	ad1: READ command timeout tag=0 serv=0 - resetting

	ata0: resetting devices

On the odd chance that it would make a difference, I did the:

	hw.ata.ata_dma="1"
	hw.ata.atapi_dma="1"

But it did not help.

Now, if I put a Maxtor drive on as ad1, no problem boot and installs
from the CD or floppy without issue. If I put the second WD drive on
the second controller as the master, no problem either.

Any Idea how I can resolve this?

Ted
