That's why I distinguish between Linux (the kernel) and "Linux distributions", which are the things you are talking about. The Linux kernel is pretty much ok. It's not perfect, but they are working on it - just like the FreeBSD kernel. The distributions, on the other hand, cover a very wide spectrum. They range from things that are every bit as obnoxious as Windows, to things that are clean and reasonable. Having a wide choice of distributions is a Good Thing. > (there are two OSes in this world Windows and other.)
