This is a very old thread...

In short, RMS said on the OpenBSD mailing list that it's not a free 
operating system because you can install non-free software (e.g adobe 
flash).

But, the OpenBSD developers answered that the Emacs distribution (kind 
funny) contains code to work on Windows. Also some other GNU/Linux 
distributions provides ways to install non-free software as well and RMS 
bless them (because they donated to FSF which OpenBSD didn't).

Now, no need to start the flame again :-).
